My name is Leopold Bushkin, and I’ve spent much of my life fascinated by history, by the institutions people build, and by what happens to both when the world changes around them. In 2020, with considerably more time at home than expected, I finally started putting some of those interests into a story.
That story became Memory and Stone.
It began as a short story, but with some encouragement from my family, it kept growing. The characters acquired histories. The world acquired kingdoms, wars, politics, old grudges, and mysteries. Before long, one book was no longer enough. The Shattering was born.
Memory and Stone is the first journey into that world. The kingdom of Meirune is beginning to fracture, while forces buried for centuries stir once more. Caught in the middle are people who will have to decide what they are willing to protect, sacrifice, and become as their familiar world comes apart.
I’m delighted to finally begin sharing this world with you.
